Client: Jeff Mathias, Food Bank Director, Blue Mountain Action Council

The Blue Mountain Action Council food bank collects food from multiple sources and distributes it to food pantries and other food security programs. In Spring 2015, a team of Whitman College students developed a new inventory database using PHP and MySQL. Since then, the application has been in continuous use. While Jeff would like to extend the application with new clients and volunteers modules, he also has had some problems with robustness.

The goal of this project is to re-implement the existing system using a modern Web framework such as Ruby on Rails or Django. Fortunately, the previous implementation is very well-documented. Ideally, you will also extend the application with new clients and volunteers modules, as well as other new features Jeff wants.
