Last Played Media
Last updated January 13, 2025
Beginning with Mezzmo Kodi addon version 2.1.1.1, a feature called Last Played was added for video media. Music will be added in the near future. This feature allows you to quickly view the more recently / last played X number of items in your library across all Kodi clients. A common use case might be that you start watching something, switch to something else and then want to quickly go back to the first item you were watching. Another scenario is that you switch Kodi clients and when you get to the new Kodi client you don't want to navigate menus to find what you were watching. This new Last Played feature makes this just two clicks away.
Configuring the Last Plated setting is done with the View Setting in the addon options. The default is 10 with a maximum of 30. Setting the Last Played Option to 0 disables this feature and the Last Played context menu option below.
The Last Played feature, when set higher than 0 above, can be accessed via the Mezzmo context menu whether in GUI or Native mode.
When you select Last Played the number of items in the Last Played addon option will be returned. They will be sorted in the playback order with the most recently played first. They will be displayed regardless of the playcount, bookmark / resume point and globally across all clients if resume point sharing is enabled.
The Last Played feature operates the same was as GUI mode operation. From the Mezzmo Context Menu you will see the Last Played menu item.
The only difference with native mode is when the Last Played items appear, there will be a Kodi Home menu item to take you back to the Kodi native mode home screen. Since, under the covers, the Last Played feature is really a Mezzmo GUI mode capability and not a native Kodi capability, the Kodi Home menu reduces the number of remote clicks to 1 to get back to the home screen.
