Devices Grouped by Function

The coordinator function is for devices that are used to coordinate the flow information regarding the Helium Recovery System through the network so that it reaches the database.

The Balance function is made for devices used to weigh the contents of vessels or other devices.

The storage function is comprised of devices used to store Helium or Nitrogen in gas or liquid form. The storage object classes are: Vessels, Cryostats, Gas Bladders, Gas Tanks and Gas Bundles

Gas flow meters are devices used to measure the flow of gas.

The Position function is made so that the HLM software can track and manage important physical locations in a facility. In the HLM database, a position refers to a pre-determined physical location where you can have equipment.

For example, locations where experiments can be done and that would use liquid Helium taken from vessels is a position used for feeding the system.

The Measdevice function is made for devices used to take measurements of parameters related to other devices and then send the data to the HLM server. They are devices attached to other devices such as gas counters or vessels, that send the data to the server through the communications network, and can also take the measurement in the first place.

For example, level meters are attached to vessels and they measure how much Helium the vessel has, and then send that data wirelessly to the base stations which then send it to the server. The measurement device object classes are: Level Meters, Gas Counter Modules and Helium Level Module.

The indicator function is for devices that are used to measure a single parameter and display it, without further functionality. They are used so that values that are too low or to high are detected and alarms are activated. An indicator can be a thermometer, pressure sensor, contamination sensor, and so on. The indicator object classes are: Pressure sensors, Thermometers, Contamination sensors

Valves are devices used to block or unblock the flow of liquids or gases, which is usually liquid or gas Helium for the HLM system.
