If unchecked, clicking start will start a normal session. -

Item Level Column
Shows the ilvl of the item and any bonuses on the item. -
Item Name Column
Shows the name of the item, along with the name of the player currently holding the item, if any.
The session frame can be used to show and edit the list of items before starting a session. It's always shown before session start during tests and when "Auto Start" is disabled. If "Auto Start" is enabled the session frame won't show up, as the session starts automatically.
When opening the WoW loot list the session frame is normally (see "Auto Loot") populated by the items RCLootCouncil detects as being lootable (see "Loot Everything", "Autoloot BoE" and "Ignore Options"). The list of items can be sorted automatically (see "Sort Items"). Items not present in list can be (re)added by alt-clicking on an item (see "Alt click Looting"). Alt clicking can also be used if the session frame isn't shown, as long as other settings would allow the player to start a session.
The order of the items in the session frame also determines the order the items will have in the voting- and loot frame. Normally, only the Master Looter/Group Leader will ever see the session frame.
