Session Tests
RCLootCouncil comes with a built in test feature that allows you to test your settings and try out the addon as you would in a normal group environment. You can also start a test session with other people - just be in a group with them.
Note: Due to the "Out of Instance" support, test sessions can only be done with up to 7 people outside an instance. This will change in a future version.
Note: You must be the group leader (Master Looter in Classic) if in a group to start a test.
You can start a test session with the /rc test
command (or through the options menu). This will open the session setup frame and add a semi random item to it. You can specify a different number of items to add automatically by appending a number to the command (i.e. /rc test 5
to add 5 items).
From here you can start the session, and you'd see everything as in a normal session.
Certain elements are disabled or replaced during a test session. These includes:
- Announcements - when testing alone these are printed to chat instead of their usual channels.
- Awarding - Replaced with a chat print. Note all announcements are still done as if the item was awarded.
- Loot History - as the items are not awarded, they are not registered in the loot history.
- Award Later - not supported in tests.
You can also add custom items to a test just as you can in a real session. Once the session setup frame is opened, items can be added using the /rc add [item]
command. [item]
can be either an itemlink (as produced by shift-clicking an item) or an itemID. You can add as many items as the chat input can fit at once (usually 3).
The add command also supports a specific owner of an item, see Commands: add for the specific, but note you're added as the default owner if none are supplied.
Not available in Classic
You can also start a test only with items from the latest raid in the dungeon journal. This is done using the fulltest command /rc fulltest
or its shorthand /rc ftest
. This also accepts a specific amount of items in form of a number. Note: This can be somewhat slow as it scans and picks random items from the dungeon journal.
